Here are open questions about Allingtons. In 1799, Elizabeth Swartwood Allington died at the age of 20 leaving husband John and baby boy, Jacob behind.
She was the daughter of a famous local family, the Swartwoods of PA, and he came out of nowhere
I have found clues that suggest he was born in Winchcombe, Gloucester, and that he was born in PA, but nothing conclusive. Would love to chat with someone about this.
